BRATTLE TRELLIS AND LATTICE WORKS

Your search for fine American-made arbours, gates, screens, fencing, treillage (French for trellis works) and Versailles planters is over! We are pleased to represent Brattle, a well-thought-out, complete line made from native cedars and hardwoods in Cambridge, Massachusetts.

Brattle manufactures a system of components for ease of assembly and design. They are primarily made of cedar, cupressaceae, including western red, pacific yellow and eastern white. Cedar is one of the most naturally decay resistant species of wood. Above ground, cedar will last indefinitely as it is periodically restained or painted. Cedar ground posts will endure best in well-drained soil and are known to last over 15 years. Brattle also uses bent hardwood for curves.

Brattle products receive two coats of Benjamin Moore solid latex stain, either white or Tarrytown green. Brattle joinery is secured with either galvanized fasteners and/or marine epoxy.

The Gentle Gardener will custom order Brattle components to be delivered directly to your site, or, you may choose from our selection of in-stock Versailles planters, obelisks and other accessories. The benefits to you of this system include....

  • Classic proportions and impeccable styling in the tradition of fine English and European garden ornament
  • American-made of native cedars and hardwoods, stained white or Tarrytown green
  • All hardware, a touch-up kit and instructions included
  • UPS-shippable in easy to handle sizes and weights direct to you

Installation by your local landscape or fencing contractor.

We will be happy to quote a design of your choice. Please contact Denise Hargraves or Virginia Rockwell at The Gentle Gardener, 540 832 7031. Thank you!
