Residence: A Townhouse Garden in
Alexandria, Virginia

The challenge of this project was that the client wanted everything in a typical "bowling alley" townhouse lot: low-maintenance plantings, a place to entertain, a water garden, a storage shed, places to sit, an overhead structure to block the view of the apartment building behind, lighting and irrigation. Our solution provided these elements in a modern and yet historically appropriate design.
